Dr. Alina Vehuni is a visionary educator, consultant, coach and founder of
the Armenian Dual Language Educators Association (ADLEA Inc.), with
over 20 years of impact in multilingual education, equity, and systemic transformation. As a former Teacher Specialist for the Armenian FLAG program in Glendale Unified, she led the program’s evolution from its inception into a high-performing model of dual immersion through strategic curriculum design, educator training, and community building. Today, as a consultant for Los Angeles Unified School District, she continues to shape the future of Armenian Dual Language Immersion, providing leadership in program expansion, instructional excellence, and culturally responsive practices.
Dr. Vehuni champions dual language education not just as a tool for bilingualism, but as a catalyst for global competence, economic opportunity, and cognitive advantage in the age of AI. Research shows that bilingualism enhances neuroplasticity, deepens empathy, and builds socio-emotional intelligence — skills critical for thriving in an increasingly interconnected and innovation-driven world. Through ADLEA Inc., Dr. Vehuni is building a global platform to unify and empower Armenian dual language educators, equipping them with the vision, resources, and professional community to lead with purpose and elevate the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and global citizens who are fully bilingual and biliterate in Armenian and a partner language.
